The left of the Liberal Party like to refer to themselves as “moderates”. Calling them the loony left would be far more appropriate.
How are the loony left of the Liberal Party moderate? How can they support extreme left wing views about Climate Change, immigration, Islam, free speech and so on and be moderate? Maybe in the world of the Labor Party and Greens they are moderate. But not here in the real world.
Of course, this is a rather dumb attempt at trying to market themselves to appear as something they are not. They are trying to sell their extremism as moderation. And the implication is that if they are moderate then everyone else must be extreme. So, someone in the Liberal Party that believes in a wild and radical idea such as free speech must be an extremist. Most people must therefore be extremists.
However, what is dumber is everyone else referring to them as moderates. It is particularly annoying to hear political commentators call them moderates. These commentators should not be doing the loony left’s marketing for them. They are not moderates, they are the loony left. And they should be referred to as the loony left.
The loony left are a problem for the Liberal Party. The big problem is that the Liberal Party let them in. Now it has to deal with them. The Liberals should have maintained enough discipline not to let the loony left into the party in the first place. And if any of them snuck in then they should never have been promoted into important positions. It should have been made clear from the start that the loony left were not welcome.
But it is too late now. Now, the internal structure of the Liberal Party is essentially unworkable. It is at war with itself. It is the rest of society in microcosm. It is a war between the fascist left and forces of freedom.
This is not to say that the Labor Party has a workable structure. The Labor Party has an ongoing war between the loony left, the loony loony left and the loony loony loony left. It is not all peace and love at the Labor Party.
In the Liberal Party, the loony left will keep pushing their agendas no matter what damage it causes the party. It is the agendas that are important, not the Liberal Party.
Naturally, the loony left are bad for the party’s ideology as they keep wanting to drag it into loony left world. However, they are also bad for the Party’s coherence as they cause the divisions in the party. The Liberal right does not cause the divisions. The Liberal Party is right. That is its nature. It is these “moderates” that cause the divisions by trying to drag the party to the loony left where it does not belong. They have infested the party and are trying to take it over. Of course, this causes conflict.
And the loony left are hurting the Liberal Party’s marketing. As has often been said, they turn the party into Labor-lite and this confuses the message and damages the Liberal Party’s brand image
The loony left destroy anything they touch. They should be purged from the Liberal Party.
However, some commentators have expressed the concern that if Scott Morrison offends the loony left they will get the huff and leave the party. And this would cause the government to fall. Maybe what ScoMo should do is wait until he wants or needs to call an election and then annoy them. Then, if they leave, the loony left could be replaced by decent candidates.
As voters, we have to be very wary of voting for the Liberal Party. It is a vote for a party that has a strong loony left component. No matter how slick ScoMo might be, the direction of the Liberals will always be influenced by this loony left faction.
Maybe one of the smaller parties would be an ideologically better option for our vote. And as long as we send our preferences to the coalition it should not do much harm.
One thing we can all do now is stop calling them moderates and start calling them what they really are.
